The key to being a bohemian is that you rub out any evidence of provenance of an article of clothing. It lends an air of mystery, and this is the allure. People will wonder, “Wow, she’s got cool taste, it’s so unique and eclectic…” All of her stuff looks one-of-a-kind. Some batik or hand labored print sing the anthem of the gypsy life. That Coach bag looks really un-Coach like, which I can’t pinpoint but I think it is the combination of whipstitching, edited use of hardware and application of a vertical strip of leather to act as a clasp. Accessories like this necklace makes me think of an analogy: it’s like a garage band in comparison to the mega-rockstars. Made from everyday items, it may inspire the wearer and the viewer to look around their home in a different light.
