I admit that I’m a little slow, as in a little behind the rest of the fashion world, when it comes to being up-to-date and relevant. My choice in clothing, handbags and accessories reflect my current station and immediate milieu. This means I’m always a little harried, hectic and peri-menopausal. I don’t have the energy to be a fashionista, only to be fashionable. So when I found this article from the New York Times this weekend, I was intrigued enough to read but admittedly, I will not be affected by the handbag stock market. The gist of this article is that the exponential increase in price for the purchase of a designer handbag may be facing a backlash, akin to what is happening in the real estate market. Well, I buy what I can buy and I don’t have a deadline for the actual purchase. Otherwise, I just look for inspiration. However, for those who have to or want to stay in vogue at all times, this may prove soon to be a buyer’s market.
