These bags have “L.A.” written all over them. Most people think that So. Cal., the land of celebrities, are all about the “It” bags, but they forget that normal people live here too. L.A. is a combination of hippy dippy meets boutique quality. Look at the architecture to know what I mean. There’s adobe, arts & crafts, and Eamesian abodes that lie close together, sometimes in the same neighborhood. There are enclaves of shopping destinations that play into this eclectism in Hollywood and Santa Monica. In this mix-and-match milieu, two friends, who worked at one of the City’s trendier clothiers, Tracey Ross, got together and came up with a bang-up idea to make everything that a woman could want. First came the vintage couture line, va-va-voom cum Theory dresses. Second came the thrift-shop inspired accessories and purses. Very much influenced by the 70’s, Starsky & Hutch and Huggy Bear, these bags exude a definitive laid-back and well-to-do aura to be touted by the numerous screenwriters and authors living the alternative 9-5 life in Silver Lake, Culver City, and Eagle Rock. They can go from skateboarding to lunching to a brainstorming in a pinch. All available @ shopbop.com.
