When I was a little girl, I found great delight ferreting through linen closets and under beds at my grand-parents’ house. I remember in one of those closets, grandpa kept an old, worn vanity bag. I was fascinated by it. It was quite roomy. Thick unvarnished leather, deepened in color in most places by repeated use, and it opened by way of a pull-tab frame. I was a bag addict in the making.
