To me, Kate Spade is a master in combining traditional silhouette, whimsy and sophistication. She’s got the type of bag that warrants passing down to the next generation. Case in point is the Mulholland Python Maya Satchel, which is named after the road that courses through some of the tonier neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Granted, my pain threshold for spending never reaches over a grand, but for this I think can make an exception. This bag is appealing to me, because the shape and wooden handles pay homage to a perennial favorite, the bermuda. The size, however, is characteristically of a contemporary larger size. The material and her Bexley clasp ooze luxury, but the price is not so exorbitant at $2095. Ironically, Californians are prohibited to order items made with python.

What’s up with Cali not allowing python bags? Kind of weird to single out a specific animal like that. I can still get Gator boots, right??
hmmmm….better ask the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services…but I suspect that to limit the number of ports of entry to the U.S. of those species on the endangered species list. I found this: http://training.fws.gov/library/Pubs9/wildlife_laws.pdf
